About Us |
|
Illinois Deaf Golfers Association (IDGA) is a non-profit organization formed by and for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing people and golfers. Just as golf has contributed to the fellowship within various communities, golf has been an excellent way to strengthen our Deaf community while promoting the sport itself. Twenty six years ago, four Deaf men founded this organization, and the organization has grown a great deal since then, and there will be many more years and many more members for this organization. One of our goals is to be able to sponsor young Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and hearing children of IDGA members or related programs administered by Deaf professionals in the United States. In addition to our goal is to help children and adolescents learn important life skills from the sport of golf including: self-discipline, mental and physical development, moral values and social skills.
As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization, IDGA relies on sponsorships, fundraisings, and volunteers to support our organization and to make golfing possible for all ages.
